So Where Was ICC During The Marawi Siege?

President Duterte's decision to pull out of the International Criminal Court is not an act of cowardice but prudence. This is why I want to stress it out that the Philippines (and other countries) are better off without ICC. It's time to consider not only the inefficiency of the ICC (with a $ 1 Billion budget for twelve years with only TWO Congolese warlords convicted) but also what are they doing the whole day. This brings me back to the Maute crisis which may be far from over.

It's crazy how the ICC wants to investigate President Duterte or how some people sign the stupid ICC petition to investigate him for alleged crimes. But where's the petition to get ICC to investigate one serious matter -- the HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS committed by Maute as they are part of the international terrorist organization known as ISIS. ISIS is an international organization where's ICC in all of this? Doesn't ICC mean International CRIMINAL Court? Instead, it's just a fancy name that may be hiding a huge lobby of judges that do almost nothing but waste money.

The problem is that President Duterte's "crimes" are allegations without proof. If their only source of information is the biased Philippine mainstream media -- they can see the obvious links of the Maute to ISIS but why haven't they even offered help to the Philippines? If we're going to go backwards, shouldn't the whole Mamasapano fiasco convince Noynoy Aquino that the ICC is freaking useless? Why didn't ICC even offer a helping hand or two, if there were people going to ask ICC to investigate Maute -- those pleas must have just fell on deaf ears.

Either way, President Duterte has the right to be disgusted with the ICC's indifference. So why investigate allegations without proof while not even offering a helping hand to the Philippines when Marawi was under siege by terrorists who are part of an INTERNATIONAL terrorist group?
