Stray Dog Comforts Actor Pretending to be Badly Injured in Street Performance
A stray dog interrupted a street performance as it tried to comfort an actor who was actually just pretending to be badly injured in the show. The sweet moment has gone viral, with the actor saying that he would love to meet the dog again as it showed him, a stranger, compassion during a time when he was supposed to be injured.
It might be just a show but actor Numan Ertuğrul Uzunsoy felt grateful to the stray dog. He and his co-workers were doing a theatrical street performance in Turkey when it happened.
“The character I played was injured and in great pain. He’d fallen off a horse, and was breathing hard,” Uzunsoy explained.
The audience knew, of course, that Uzunsoy was not really injured. It was really just a performance. But the stray dog that happened to be passing there at the time was concerned at this human lying on the ground, apparently hurt.
It was not included in the script, but the stray dog rushed to Uzunsoy’s side to offer him some comfort. The stray dog lay on his chest, appearing to ‘hug’ him as best as it could.
“I was very happy when I felt the dog’s kisses. I was very touched. He was like an angel who wanted to help me. It was a very emotional moment for me. I was not expecting it,” the actor admitted.
Uzunsoy had to veer from the script as the dog comforted him there.
“My castmates loved the dog, and the audience was very happy. Everyone cheered,” the actor happily added.
Eventually, one of the crew managed to get the dog and the performance continued. But the moment stuck with Uzunsoy. He hopes to reunite with the stray dog and make its life better.
