After finding a laptop he liked from a popular online store, Arthur paid a total of Php22,499 for the item. He thought that he was able to save some money with the purchase as he received a discount of Php900 from the shopping platform plus another Php300 discount from the seller. He also received a discount on the shipping fees.

Considering that the online store is well known and quite popular in the Philippines, Arthur was confident with the purchase. He was quite excited to receive the laptop so he can attend his online classes.

But when the package arrived, he was shocked to find that though it was placed in a laptop box, there were only rocks inside – there is no laptop at all. The box did have some protective foam and, surprisingly, a mouse pad, but there really is no laptop inside.

The poor student was so shocked with what he received that all he could do was cry.

He knew how hard his parents had worked to save the money he needed to buy that laptop, only for him to get scammed by the seller. The young man cried harder as he thought of the sacrifice his parents did so he can have this item he needed for school.

Arthur hurried to write the seller to complain about the item. The seller claimed that they sent a real laptop, but something must have happened along the way.

Though the seller refunded Arthur’s money, he reported the incident to the local authorities to find out who was responsible for the rocks in his laptop order…
