Hero Dog Saves Family from Possible Fire While They Were Sleeping
The family of Annex Codilla was saved from a possible fire by their dog. At the time, they were all asleep when the dog refused to stop barking until someone checked what was happening. It was a good thing the dog was there because their lives were saved!
According to Codilla, they were all fast asleep and could have perished in the fire, if their dog Rover did not wake them up. The 2-year-old Dachshund and the family live at Barangay Silangan in San Mateo, Rizal.
They were all sleeping last Sunday, January 24, when the dog began to act strangely and tried its best to wake them up. Thinking that there might be an intruder, Codilla’s partner Sarah checked on what was going on.
The dog led Sarah to the extension wire that had actually exploded. Apparently, the extension was used for the family’s fridge. Sarah immediately unplugged the burning item, preventing the fire.
“Kaya pala hindi siya mapakali, hindi nya kami tinigilan hanggang sa magising kami. Akala ko may tao. Kaya [pala] pagbangon ko, amoy sunog na at umuusok na ung saksakan ng ref namin,” Codilla narrated.
Thanks to their hero dog, they were all safe.
Codilla added that this was not the first time that this hero dog saved their lives. There was also an incident in the past when Rover found a snake curled up around the iron grills of their terrace.
Small as it is, the Dachshund ran towards the snake and refused to stop biting on it until it was gone. It was only when the snake had stopped moving that they picked it up.
Rover is truly a hero dog!
