Ivana Alawi ‘Pranks’ Delivery Riders with Free Helmets, Php10,000 Cash
Delivery riders are among the frontliners and heroes amid the COVID-19 crisis, yet many are experiencing a lot of problems from scammers and prank customers.
It is sad that these hardworking riders are getting these prank orders. While they might still be refunded for the prank orders, they do waste their time on these fake deliveries.
Understanding the plight of these delivery riders and hoping to encourage people to support them instead, Pinay-Moroccan YouTube star Ivan Alawi decided to do her own ‘prank’ on them, too. This time, however, the ‘prank’ is actually a good one because she gave the riders free helmets and Php10,000 cash! Wow.
“Palagi kasi akong umo-order ng pagkain sa mga delivery, tapos di ba kahit nung pandemic, sila talaga ‘yung bumabyahe, so I think it’s time to give back,” Ivana explained.
“Yung reason talaga kung bakit ko ‘to ginagawa is because marami akong nakikita na scammer na mga tao na akala nila nakakatawa na pagtripan nila ang mga driver na nagpapakahirap magtrabaho.”
In the vlog, the 24-year-old YouTube star ‘pranked’ a total of 8 delivery riders. She used different names to order the food to surprise the riders. When they arrived, she let them take part of a mini-game she set up but still gave them the prize even if they didn’t win!
“I will always keep giving back to you because kayo ang nagbigay kung ano man ang meron ako ngayon dito sa YouTube. And this is my small way of saying thank you,” Ivana said.
“And grabe my heart is so full talaga kapag nakakapagpasaya ako ng tao. And this is what makes me happy.”
