The video primarily features the story of the first circumnavigation in the world led by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, in Portuguese, Fernão de Magalhães. In this expedition, the group arrived in the archipelago of the Philippines on March 16, 1521.

The boy Fernão shares the same name with Magellan. His father is a Portuguese, and his mother is a Filipina from Mactan, Cebu where Magellan lost and perished in a battle.

Fernão’s family tree caught the attention of the Philippine Ambassador to Portugal, Celia Anna Feria. She asked his parents to create a content in celebration of the 500th anniversary of Magellan’s landing in the Philippines.

In a  Kapamilya story, it was mentioned that Fernão’s project is supported by the Philippine National Quincentennial Committee.

The video content started with Ferñao being in the waters of Portugal in Cabo da Roca and in Virgin Island of Bantayan, Cebu. He differentiated the waters between the two countries; but emphasized that these waters are the same.

He then compared the strength of the waters with Ferdinand Magellan, and said that in this waters, he travelled around the world and is the most epic voyage ever.

Ferñao further told the story how Magellan met his greatest rival in the Philippines who was Lapulapu.

However, despite of the differences and distance, he highlighted that he is an example of the union between the two legacies.

The content further emphasized and corrected the misconception of Magellan discovering the Philippines. It was stressed that Magellan did not discover the Philippines since the archipelago was already a home to many people and cultures before his arrival.

Magellan, instead, has created the connection between the people from the Philippines to Europeans.
