Caviteña Beauty Dia Mate Wins Philippines’ Second Reina Hispanoamericana Crown in Bolivia
Filipina beauty queen Deanna Marie “Dia” Mate made history in Bolivia by winning the Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 title, securing another victory for the Philippines in the prestigious international pageant.
The Caviteña singer-songwriter outshone over 20 candidates from Hispanic heritage nations during the grand coronation night on February 10, 2025, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, replicating the success of Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez, who won the same crown for the Philippines eight years ago.
Dia aced the swimsuit round during the finals in a black-and-white one-piece bikini. She dazzled in the evening gown segment, wearing a gold creation by Filipino fashion designer Rian Fernandez.

The newly crowned beauty queen sealed her victory during the question-and-answer portion, where she was asked what values are essential in creating a fair society and why they are important.
Dia responded: “I think the most important value that we should have is kindness. In my experience here in Bolivia, Latinas have shown me so much kindness and so much love even though racially, I am not Latino.”

She also emphasized the deep cultural and spiritual connections between Filipinos and Latinos.
“And the most beautiful thing I’ve noticed is that even though we don’t speak the same language, we share the same culture, same heart, and same faith in God. And I hope this shows everybody that if we use kindness we can show that we are all the same and can create a better world and a better society for us all,” Dia concluded.
