Duterte talks to mining companies then Rappler sneaks malicious info in its report. ~SHARE

You be the judge of what Rappler's intention really was. In my opinion, that they did was very malicious.

Last Thursday, August 4, 2017, Rappler's Pia Ranada reported about a meeting with President Rody Duterte and the mining companies.

The story started by saying the that president kept his promise about personally meet with mining companies to impress upon them his requirement that they conduct responsible mining operations.

In that report, Rappler said that information coming from the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson, mentioned that the President told the mining companies that "for as long as mining groups follow the rules on mining and keep the environmental cost in mind" then Duterte would have no problem with them.

If you recall, Duterte warned the mining companies in his second State of the Nation Address, telling them that they, the mining companies, will have to pay for environmental damage caused by their operations or else he would tax them "to death."

Then towards the end of the article, Pia Ranada suddenly wrote...

"While Duterte has unleashed harsh words against miners, he is also friends with some of them. As president-elect, for instance, he was a wedding sponsor or "ninong" of the daughter of his friend, Cebuano Fernando "Ding" Borja, president of Adnama Mining Resources Incorporated (AMRI). Borja supported Duterte during his presidential campaign in 2016."

"AMRI is a company registered in Mandaue City, Cebu. The company's portfolio includes several mainly nickel mining projects in northern Mindanao, including a 1,000-hectare mine in Claver, Surigao del Norte. – Rappler.com"

What is Rappler's Pia Ranada trying to say?

The title of Pia Ranada's article is IN PHOTOS: Duterte meets miners in Malacañang and not about Duterte and miner Ding Borja. What is the relevance of the AMRI to the story about Duterte talking to miners and convincing them about doing the right this for the environment?

If Pia Ranada is trying to insinuate that the Duterte will give Ding Borja favors because they are kumpares and that  Duterte is the ninong of Borja's daughter plus he was a supporter during the last elections, then she does not know the president.

I am sure she knows what Duterte did to his long time friend and Davao City Second District Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr., who gave him a total of ₱75 million during the election.

Floirendo was Duterte's biggest contributor and a good friend, but despite that, he did not protect Floirendo when House Speaker Bebor Alvarez sued him for graft over his family’s banana business deal with the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

Why Pia? Why?
