Huh! What is Duterte doing in the Church? He is mayor again?

What is President Duterte doing in church?

Considering that the President has a rocky relationship with the Catholic Church, one cannot wonder what he is doing there.

Well, this is what happened. Duterte was acting like a mayor again who cared about his constituents. In Davao City, whenever there was a fire, Duterte would drop what he was doing to attend to his constituents.

So when a fire broke on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, near Malacañang, the President did what he does best, and that is to he cares for the people.

Hundreds of families were left homeless after the fire razed at least 100 houses along Sikat Street in San Miguel, Manila and despite the President's very heavy schedule, he visited about 200 families were affected by the blaze in Barangay 645.

Our President acted like a Mayor again when he paid a brief visit to the families affected by a fire at a residential area inside the Malacañang compound on early Wednesday morning.

Inside the San Miguel Church, the President said he will give P5,000 as cash assistance for each family.

President Duterte also said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will provide food packs which contain six kilos of rice, three cans of corned beef, three cans of meatloaf, six sachets of three-in-one coffee, blanket, bottled water, and a sleeping mat.

In addition, the President assured that food will be provided to the families.

“'Yung pagkain, sagot po namin hanggang maka-ano kayo,” the President said.

“We will ask the [DSWD] to provide food everyday habang nag-a-adjust kayo,” he said.

Long live our Mayor President.
