Trillanes HAPPY Taguiwalo rejected as DSWD Chief by Commission on Appointments
Although Trillanes did not categorically announce his happiness over Taguiwalo's rejection, the basis for my assumption was a statement he made last July 30, 2107.
In an article published on news.abs-cbn.com titled Trillanes to Duterte: Axe Leftist Cabinet members, Trillanes said "...I am now calling on him (Duterte) to kick out the communist leaders in his Cabinet". One of the communist leaders Trillanes was referring to was Judy Taguiwalo.
Although did not provide proof, Trillanes justified his dare by claiming that hundreds of communists have infiltrated government agencies like the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
It should be noted too that this is not the first time Trillanes has made claims without providing evidence. Aside from that, if the senator will say that he is saddened by the news of Taguiwalo rejection, I am sure many would view him as very hypocritical.
Judy Taguiwalo who is very popular among the netizens was nominated by the communist National Democratic Front or NDF to be part of Duterte's cabinet. I assume that her nomination was accepted because of her credentials and also partly because of Duterte's attempt to make peace with the communist.
On August 16, 2017, the Malacañan Palace released a statement saying, "We are saddened by the Commission on Appointments’ rejection of Secretary Judy Taguiwalo."
"Secretary Taguiwalo had served the Duterte administration with a passion, professionalism, and integrity. She made an impact in the lives of many Filipinos in her tenure as DSWD Secretary."
"The President is now looking and studying for a possible replacement."
Whoever the replacement is, will have very large shoes to fill considering that Judy Taguiwalo is very popular among the netizens.
