These new solar ambassadors have joined the solar lighting movement of the LIGHT IT FORWARD challenge to address the issue of energy scarcity in the country.

The award-winning project of Filipino social enterprise group Liter of Light aims to unburden the lives of the millions of Filipinos still suffering from lack of electricity by hand-building sustainable solar lamps that will be of use for the next 5 years.

The Light it Forward video challenge that unites celebrities, social influencers, and ordinary people had already gained recognition from the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan and received the prestigious Asia Pacific Social Innovation and Partnership Award (APSIPA).

The cause of providing a quality light source to communities for free not only gives light to poor families but also motivates frontliners to keep the fight against COVID-19 as solar advocates dedicate their hand-built solar lamp to them.

Each solar lamp is an eco-friendly power source because it reduces carbon emissions by at least 1,000 kg which makes it a great substitute for hazardous and costly kerosene lamps often used by villagers.

To those who will join the challenge, Liter of Light will send the light kit. Upon completion of the assembly process, it will be sent back to them to be delivered to poor villages in the Philippines.

The chain of video challenges greatly promotes the campaign as more people opt to social media amid the quarantine.

The LIGHT IT FORWARD challenge added six more solar challengers:

TV host/actress Donita Rose

TV presenter Arnold Clavio
