Grandma Begs in the Streets to Buy Orphaned Granddaughter’s Online Class Requirements

A grandma recently went viral after she was spotted begging in the streets to help her granddaughter buy the requirements for her online class. The little girl is already an orphan; thus, the old woman had no choice but to find a way so the girl could still attend school even if they don’t have money.

Jhonroe Yu Cabildo shared that he was at Monumento Station Caloocan to pass his requirements when he spotted the old woman, later identified as Lola Ladia Gracias of Brgy. 160 in Caloocan City.

Despite her age, Lola Ladia was there in the streets in hopes that people will take pity on her and give her some cash.

It turned out that Lola Ladia is doing this for her granddaughter, Princess Jasmine. The 11-year-old girl is having trouble using her broken cellphone for her online classes but has no choice since they don’t have money.

The girl no longer has parents and Lola Ladia is the only one who could help her because her grandfather is bedridden. With no fixed income, Lola Ladia could only beg in the streets for her husband and granddaughter.

She admits to feeling a bit ashamed that she has to beg money, but Lola Ladia said that she does not force anyone to give her any money and that she does not blame the barangay officials if they can’t help the family because they also have other people to worry about.
