Fil-Canadian couple wins lottery twice in less than a year, total wins over of $1.1 million

A Filipino- Canadian couple could probably be one of the luckiest bettors as they won the lottery twice in a year.
Winning the lottery might sound like once in a blue moon chance but a couple proved that luck is on their side. Liezl Panganiban and Edgar Ebreo hit the jackpot and won $500,000 while playing the Extra in the Lotto 6/49 draw in September. But luck hit them twice, as they recently also took home $675,000 after playing Set for Life.
Even the couple couldn’t believe their luck and felt extremely blessed. “We feel really blessed and very thankful to be winners,” Panganiban told the BC Lottery Corporation.
“It’s a special feeling. I can’t quite describe it,” Ebreo remarked.
According to Ebro, he purchased his winning ticket from a 7-Eleven store on Coast Meridian Road in Port Coquitlam and Panganiban scratched it at home.
“When I saw the three cash symbols, I couldn’t believe it, so I showed Edgar,” Panganiban said. “I started dancing,” Ebreo recalled.
With their money, they plan to pay off their mortgage and plan a family vacation to Hawaii, their daughter’s favorite place.
Back when they had their first lottery win last September, the couple admitted they couldn’t sleep due to excitement and happiness.
The couple recalled that they were at home doing laundry when Panganiban decided to check their tickets on the BCLC Lotto! app.
“I told my husband that someone had won in Port Coquitlam. I Decided to check our Mega Pack ticket and it came up as a non-winner,” she shared.
Much to their surprise, Ebreo remembered he had another ticket and had his wife checked it. “When it came up a winner we were both really excited,” said Ebreo.
Such a fortune couple, indeed!
